ART FOR EVERYDAY BRINGS VISION TO LIFE

November 21 2009

Designers and architects are visual professionals and love to see what AFE products look like in application. AFE is now pioneering a special combination of software to simulate AFE products in “real” environments. Our new kitchen renderings are so life like that unless we pointed out that they are computer generated, you may never guess!

When architectural woodcarvings are designed at AFE, an incredible amount of thought, planning and effort go into each piece. The software being used allows us to share the vision with designers before the product is actually installed in beautiful interiors.

Designers now have more ways to bring detail to even the most modern environments with the expansion of AFE’s new Arts Collection. Originally introduced as a micro collection of 12 pieces, the response has been so positive that AFE increased the product line with the addition of moldings, mantels, bases and corner corbels. Now this look is even more adaptable in multiple applications, not only within a kitchen environment, but any interior space.

A Feather in Our Cap – courtesy of Steinway & Sons

September 7 2009
A Feather in Our Cap – courtesy of Steinway & Sons When a private collector purchased the perfect replica of Steinway & Sons’ White House piano that is displayed at the Smithsonian in Washington, the collector also purchased a labor of love from Art For Everyday, Inc., a leading manufacturer of architectural woodcarvings. Over the past year, Master Carvers from AFE, based in Toronto, worked steadily on the intricate American eagle legs, coat of arms decorative panels, the musical instrument collage music stand, and the lyrical note inspired pedals in order to give the replication the same craftsmanship of the original piano presented to President Theodore Roosevelt in 1903.

“The Master Carvers and craftsmen at Art For Everyday met our high expectations both in terms of planning and execution of carving details,” stated Andrew Horbachevsky, Vice President of Manufacturing for Steinway & Sons, “It is rare indeed to find such a partners these days who share our commitment to excellence in producing hand crafted masterpieces,” added Horbachevsky.

This project highlights the fact that AFE can tackle any custom carving project. When designers have a unique vision, AFE can rise to the challenge as they did with the Steinway project, and bring the creativity alive through wood.
